Lucid Dreaming
About Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming is the art of becoming conscious in our dreams with a view to working with areas of the unconscious that aren’t available to us during the waking state.
Human beings have been lucid dreaming for thousands of years, but the actual bonafide scientific proof that our minds are capable of being both asleep and conscious at the same time wasn’t captured in a sleep laboratory until 1975 - a discovery that took place right here in the United Kingdom.
Since that time the world has started to wake up to the possibilities offered through lucid dreaming practices - and in particular it’s those of us working in the field of mental health who are now witnessing the way in which lucid dreaming offers whole new ways of working with psychological distress and trauma, and healing our minds and bodies.
James is also the lead psychotherapist assisting the lucid dreaming teacher and bestselling author Charlie Morley and is in the process of training as a lucid dreaming facilitator.
James specialises in using lucid dream work in tandem with Core Process Psychotherapy and Kum Nye as a vehicle for healing trauma and is working on the development of a Post Qualification Diploma in Lucid Dreaming for Practitioners at Karuna Dartmoor with Charlie and Karuna Dartmoor founder Maura Sills.
